People who fail to differentiate between their subjective view of reality and objective reality are often the same ones who think they will not die when they die.

Because they have linked their consciousness with reality, they think on some level that their death will mean the death of everything.

In truth however, there has always been life after death. It's just not our own life. It's the life of everyone else who is alive when we die. We live on in them. Both as memories and material.
